Period-free Panties Are Here!

Despite technological and scientific advancements, certain situations still call for the most basic solutions. Take, for example, a woman's period. For many years, the options available have always been napkins and tampons.

But a new company hopes to change all that by giving the girls what it believes they need: a period-free panty.

SheThinx, the company behind the novel invention, has indeed created a pair of undies, which can range from thongs to hiphuggers depending on the strength of the flow, that works like a regular napkin. It has the ability to absorb the blood flow but without any leakage. Women can also continue to feel dry all throughout the day. The panties, which look like any regular women's undies, are also washable and thus reusable, making the product sustainable.

The undies were designed by twins Radha and Miki Agrawal and Antonia Dunbar from New York, are available in different designs. The thongs, which cost $24, are intended for lighter days. Cheeky, on the other hand, which is worth $29, is for medium days. For the heavy days, which normally happen in between the period cycle, the best option is the hiphugger, valued at $34.

Women can buy them individually, or they can choose a cycle set, which contains at least 3 pairs, for a discount of about 10% to 20%.

When asked for the reason for creating these types of panties, the inventors simply want to further empower women by releasing them from the embarrassment due to blood leak. This is a reality experienced by one of them, who had to cancel a meeting when blood stain became more obvious in her white skirt.

They're also taking their mission to another level. With a socio-entrepreneurship model similar to Toms, for every pair of panties purchased, the company also gives back another pair intended for many women who have less access to better hygienic care, especially those who are living in impoverished nations.
