A New Addition to the Solar System Reported

It has been a decade since Pluto was demoted from its status as the ninth planet in the solar system. Many scientists and civilians alike have been reeling and protesting the decision for almost ten years. Their pleas have been left unheard however there might be a new planet that would once again round up the solar system into a group of nine.

Two days ago, two scientists from the California Institute of Technology or Caltech presented significant evidence that there is a celestial body nearly the size and just behind Neptune.  According to their research, the "planet" orbits the sun every 15,000 years and might be the same size as the earth.

The scientists, Konstantin Batyagin and Mike Brown, have since prepared for the backlash regarding their supposed confirmation of the elusive "Planet X." Brown was quick to reassure skeptics that they are right and the planet does exist.

"If you say, 'We have evidence for Planet X,' almost any astronomer will say, 'This again? These guys are clearly crazy.' I would, too. Why is this different? This is different because this time we're right" quipped Brown as reported by Science Magazine.

Batyagin even further explained that they themselves were apprehensive about their discovery. However according to him, the more they delved into the studying the mysterious "Planet X" the more convinced they are it is indeed the ninth addition to the solar system.

"Although we were initially quite skeptical that this planet could exist, as we continued to investigate its orbit and what it would mean for the outer solar system, we've become increasingly convinced that it is out there" explained Batyagin.

The study is not the first to explore the possibility of one more planet lurking behind the distant Neptune and Uranus. In the 80s and 90s, several teams of scientists have gone into the search for "Planet X." However all efforts have remained futile.
