Valve's participation in the upcoming GDC 2015 is rumored to be "Half-Life 3" release date announcement as well. How true are the rumors?

The report came from Kdramastars indicating that Valve have uploaded some data about "Half Life 3" on the Steam database but was immediately deleted after gamers found the entry and spread it online.

"Valve unofficially made an announcement on the highly anticipated title. By unofficial, the confirmation was made through a leak by Valve on Steam. For those who are unaware of the havoc that is going on, Steam was updated yesterday and it saw the addition of App 323900. The amazing part is with the fact that App 33900 came out with Half Life 3's logo. This has got the fans buzzing loudly as for the first time ever; a leak from Half Life 3 actually came from Valve themselves. Of course, Valve was notified of the buzz and has hence removed the App from the listing" as was noted on the report.

However, Valve has not addressed this leakage so readers might as well take it with a grain of salt.

Meanwhile, with the Half Life 3 release date still uncertain, previous reports claim that Valve will be participating in the upcoming Game Development Conference event.

In a report by vg247, the session, titled "glNext: The Future of High Performance Graphics," will be presented by Valve.

"Join us for the unveiling of Khronos' glNext initiative, the upcoming cross-platform graphics API designed for modern programming techniques and processors. glNext will be the singular choice for developers who demand peak performance in their applications," reads the descriptor.

"We will present a technical breakdown of the API, advanced techniques and live demos of real-world applications running on glNext drivers and hardware."

Also reported is that Valve also confirmed a large amount of Steam Machines will be present at the conference. Big revelations are expected to come for Valve's Steam Machines and PC gaming during this seminar.

GDC 2015 takes place March 2-6 in San Francisco.
