Konami and Kojima split is causing "Silent Hills" fans to hyperventilate. Breathe-in, breathe-out.

After the big news of Konami and Kojima Productions possibly splitting up, rumors have spread that the Guillermo del Toro co-directed and Norman Reedus-starred video game "Silent Hills" will no longer meet its 2015 release date. What is really happening?

Speculations online reveal that Kojima Productions led by designer Hideo Kojima will be parting ways with Konami and this is causing major problems in terms of current video games in development. According to a report by Game Spot, "Konami has switched from a studio-based to a headquarters-based organization, so [Kojima Productions] wouldn't be listed as a studio anymore. At this time, there are no additional updates to share."

No reason for the split has also been shared in any interview by both parties, but reports reveal that Hideo Kojima is just wrapping up work on "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," and will drive off into the sunset. So what happens to "Silent Hills" then?

While nothing official has been announced regarding the possible delay of "Silent Hills" release date, some reports have gone to assume that the game, which stars "The Walking Dead" actor Norman Reedus, will not come this 2015 as originally planned. Some articles even announce that "Silent Hills" will be cancelled, causing fans to panic.

The issue was then further aggravated when Konami removed the Kojima Productions logo from the "Silent Hills" website. With information available on the topic, while it is possible that Kojima will no longer be involved in the further development of "Silent Hills," the cancellation of the video game entirely is an overstatement.

"Silent Hills" is the latest installment to the "Silent Hill" franchise that began in the late 90s. This survival horror game is one of the pillars in the horror media franchise, and ultimately cancelling its latest chapter would be detrimental for both Konami and Kojima.

The latest announcement to "Silent Hills" release date was set on 2015, no updates yet when this year, but it will come.
