CD Projekt RED upcoming RPG "Cyberpunk 2077" will not come in 2015.
While "Cyberpunk 2077" has indeed been announced to be in development, CD Projekt RED confirmed that the latest RPG will not intrude with the progress of "The Witcher 3" as its release date has been pushed to 2016. Here are other details like trailer and gameplay information available so far.
In a recent interview with Game Pressure, Adam Badowski of CD Projekt RED talked about the announcement of "Cyberpunk 2077" and whether its development has caused the delay of another game in development, "The Witcher 3."
"Not entirely," Badowsky shared. "Obviously, it's important to come up with plans and execute them. In that way, we wanted to present a certain vision of ourselves. Such a thing is very important for a company like ours - a company that is both a developer and a publisher."
"The moment we announced 'Cyberpunk 2077', we certainly got busy with it. Later on, it turned out that we needed help in completing 'The Witcher 3.' We have put a large part of the team to work on finishing the game. Once it's released, we'll be able to focus on 'Cyberpunk 2077.' After all, we haven't announce its release date so no one can complain."
The action RPG "Cyberpunk 2077" is based on tabletop RPGs and will "feature a dystopian futuristic world in which ultra-modern technology co-exists with a degenerated human society."
"Cyberpunk 2077" gameplay will also include a multiplayer component, as Badowski explained to Eurogamer. He said, "The first and most important environment for Cyberpunk is the city, obviously. But not only the city: you can expect some more environments in the Cyberpunk game. We want to start in the Night City, which is cool. And yes it will be an open world game as well."
"We'll have different situation in Cyberpunk," continued Badowski. "Cyberpunk will have different character classes. It will be a story-based RPG experience with amazing single-player playthroughs, but we're going to add multiplayer features."
