Is Disney taking their time to release "Frozen 2" to include a non-Disney character into the story?
The clamour to include Jack Frost as Elsa's love interest in the sequel is at its height. A select fan base have been pushing for Elsa and Jack Frost's team-up to materialize. An online petition posted on Change.org has been started to convince Disney to make "JElsa" happen.
But this could be a far-fetched idea as Jack Frost is a Dreamworks' character. This rumor might have to take a rest soon.
Jennifer Lawrence has also been reportedly considered for a role. "Jen's husky rendition of 'The Hanging Tree' in Mockingjay Part 1 surprised everyone," an insider told OK mag. "Now execs [at Disney] think she could be the new Kristen Bell."
"She's such a relevant star," the source added. "She'd bring tons of fans to the next film."
Meanwhile, rumors are also going around that "Frozen 2" could be released in 2018.
"New reports indicate that the film won't be hitting theaters until 2018. This is not simply due to the schedules of the talents involved, including Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, but also because of the company's current slate of films scheduled for release," Christian Today reported.
New reports are hinting on the possibility that the highly awaited sequel could head straight to DVD, and could not get a big screen release.
"However, if one were to take a historic account of sequels of films produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, then fans should not expect something that surpasses the original. Instead, fans should expect Frozen 2 to be given the direct-to-video treatment," Inquisitr reported.
"The fact of the matter is that almost all the sequels of animations by Walt Disney Animation Studios are not made by them. Instead, the projects are given to DisneyToon Studios. Through them, sequels for Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and many others were produced.
