According to a report by News Republic, Justin Bieber has been issued an arrest warrant in Argentina after refusing to respond to summons for his involvement in the attack of local paparazzi.
The "Beauty and the Beat" singer and songwriter is one of the highest paid entertainers below 30 along with other teen idols Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez.
The warrant was issued by Judge Alberto Julio Banos and his ruling described an "immediate detention" of the superstar and his bodyguards Hugo Alcides Hesny and Terrence Reche Smalls.
The allegations stem from a 2013 incident in the outskirts of a Buenos Aires nightclub when Bieber reportedly sent two of his bodyguards to man-handle a photographer named Diego Pesoa.
Bieber may face up to six years in prison under Argentina's stiff laws for charges of causing injury. However, the beleaguered singer who recently said he is getting more mature after a drug bust and charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs by the Miami police, did not stick around to respond to the summons.
The singer who originally became famous after his mother posted his songs on YouTube has blamed his mistakes on his past and not having a stable family. He was quoted as saying in media reports that it is" difficult to be Justin Bieber."
"Now we just need to wait for the police to find him and bring him to Argentina," said Matias Morla, Pesoa's lawyer in a newrepuplic.com report.
"For us, this is a triumph against all those who said this case was a bluff and that we didn't have anything," he added.
Morla is a prominent lawyer whose clients include former football star and sports promoter, Diego Maradona.
