Marvel has recently announced its partnership with Telltale Games for a game to be launched in 2017 and that mystery title might be "Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3."

Although there are no specific details yet on the upcoming game, fans reportedly want the sequel to "Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2" to be released next. The first two titles of this series were published by Activision. However, Product-Reviews.net reported that the publisher's license may have expired since no new "Ultimate Alliance" game has been released since 2009.

"Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3" would benefit from a story-driven campaign from Telltale as well as the usual RPG and elements of level up seen in most Marvel games. The massive project may be released on PC and consoles such as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There are no announcements yet on whether it will be released for Wii U and last-gen platforms.

Telltale Games is an independent digital publisher best known for their episodic gaming release and digital distribution. Notable games by the company are: "Sam & Max," "Back to the Future," "Jurassic Park," "The Walking Dead" and "Tales from the Borderlands."

According to Justin Carter of Twinfinite.net, the next "Marvel Ultimate Alliance" would need these elements to be a great game: "Secret Wars," "Avengers World" and universe hopping.

"Secret Wars" is the second arc, due this summer, of the main "Avengers" comic. Carter suggested that the first act of the game can be in medias res and have the story rewind just before the "Avengers" fight the main boss.

The second act of "MUA 3" may feature the core cast of "Avengers" as starter characters. Next, Iron Man and Captain America would create a large roster of Avengers from Spider-Man, Wolverine, Falcon and Captain Marvel, among others. It should conclude with a battle of the superhero team defending Earth against the Builders and Thanos.

Lastly, the next "Ultimate Alliance" game should have the heroes "investigate wormholes leading to other universes," where the heroes fight against multiverse versions of themselves.
