TV show "Damien" based on "The Omen" horror movie is coming!

Upcoming TV show "Damien" based on the 1976 horror film "The Omen" is moving networks from Lifetime to A&E. More episodes have been ordered, with cast and plot details made available before its scheduled release date set this year.

Latest news on the upcoming horror TV show "Damien" reveals the series moving networks from Lifetime to A&E. Rob Sharenow of sister companies A&E and Lifetime revealed to THR, "A&E's unwavering commitment to high-quality original scripted drama programming, coupled with the sizable fan base for our hit series 'Bates Motel,' which so perfectly aligns with 'Damien,' make the network the ideal fit for this exceptional show."

"We are thrilled with what we've seen so far and know that Glen and the creative team have even more story to tell in season one," continued Sharenow.

"Damien" is a sequel to "The Omen" film released in 1976. The TV show continues on with the lead character Damien Thorn as an adult, and who is still unaware of his birthright as the Antichrist. His humanity will be challenged as evil forces lead him to the path he has always been expected to take.

TV show "Damien" will be portrayed by Bradley James who is known for his portrayal of King Arthur in the BBC series "Merlin." The 32-year-old actor has also appeared in the 2012 movie "Fast Girls" as well as other TV shows as in "Homeland" in season 4 and "iZombie."

Other cast members of "The Omen" TV series includes Barbara Hershey who will portray Ann Rutledge, Omid Abtahi as Amani Golkar and Meganlyn Exhikunwoke as Simone Baptiste. TV Series Finale reported that character Ann Rutledge is "the world's most powerful woman who has been tasked with making sure Damien fulfills his destiny" and will be among the many characters that will bring evil back the evil of "The Omen."

Initially, six episodes were ordered for "Damien" and has now gone to a total of 10 episodes this first season. The supernatural horror TV show release date is set on April 29.
