“Eye Candy” Season 2 has been officially cancelled by MTV. The show’s lead star, Victoria Justice, had already taken to Twitlonger to confirm the sad news.

“Hi, everyone!” Justice wrote.

“I wanted you guys to hear it from me first. The cast and I received news that ‘Eye Candy’ will not be returning for Season 2. Even though a lot of you are going to feel sad/angry, please know that playing Lindy Sampson is something that I loved and I will hold dear to my heart.”

She also thanked the executive producers of the show, Christian Taylor and Jason Blum, under Blumhouse Productions. “You guys are amazing,” she added.

Loyal fans of the show have already started a petition, addressing the network, to demand a second season for the cyber thriller, according to Inquisitr. Fans think are convinced that “Eye Candy” should be renewed for a second season since a lot of questions were left unanswered.

“Her fate with Tommy is still uncertain,” wrote a fan. “This is a great and suspenseful television show. It deserves a renewal with, at least, 12 episodes because it feels the season was rushed and also a better time schedule because it premiered up against sports and March Madness.”

The petition already has 15,000 signatures, but fans now want to set a new goal of 25,000 signatures. According to the report, they are planning on holding off on contacting MTV until they have more signatures to boast of.

Although the fans are not even close to giving up with regards to the petition that they had started, KDramaStars has reported that their petition was not enough to sway MTV’s decision to axe the show.

“Eye Candy” is a crime thriller show that was based on a book written by RL Stine. Since its premiere, it had already aired 10 episodes. The show focuses on a 21-year-old woman who becomes stalked by one of her suitors after she joins a mobile dating app.

Since “Eye Candy” did not survive the chopping block, Justice opted to join a new comedy show on NBC, entitled, “Undateable,” according to Headline Planet. She first appeared on the show on Tuesday, along with Christa Miller, Zach Braff, Minnie Driver, Donald Faison, Scott Foley, and Ed Sheeran.
