Avalanche Studios' "Just Cause 3" release date may be on Dec. 2015.

Fans of the long-awaited installment of the series may have to wait for a few months to get their hands on the upcoming open world action-adventure video game. It was previously reported that the "Just Cause 3" release date is set for the fourth quarter of this year.

It was also previously reported that the "Just Cause 3" release date was supposedly set for summer 2015. In Nov. 2013, Avalanche Studios founder and creative director Christofer Sundberg allegedly revealed the game's release date along with "Mad Max" in his LinkedIn profile.

Publisher Square Enix has recently released a gameplay trailer for the game. Fans were teased and given a glimpse of the experience awaiting them for "Just Cause 3." The trailer revealed insane aerial stunts such as plane-jacking, skydiving and wingsuit flying.

Rico Rodriguez, the game's protagonist, is seen in the video zipping through verdant fields, flying above angry dictators and virtually blowing everything up. Vehicular combat, a constant in the game, makes sure that cars, trucks, helicopters, planes and motorcycles are being blown to pieces.

Sundberg has admitted that they are developing the game in such a way that it attracts players from the previous titles. He revealed that they encourage exploration in "Just Cause 3" and it will challenge players as well.

"So, design a game that really encourages experimenting and exploring and not trying to set up rules for the player," the creative director told The Verge.

"Because many games try to limit. It's sort of a caged freedom. For us, we have this motto: 'If you can see it, you can go there. And if you poke it, it reacts.' That is something that we've developed over these 12 years that we've existed. That we should never have any boundaries for the player. I'd like to just give the world to the player and let the players take off and do whatever they want."
