Sora and the entire gang are almost here! "Kingdom Hearts 3" PS4 release date and other exciting details will be announced come D23 expo in November! Directors Tai Yasue  and Tetsuya Nomura reveal updates!

The eighth installment to the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise and the first in the series that will be available for Sony is coming and it's coming fast! Latest news reveal that after years of waiting, fans will finally get to see "Kingdom Hearts 3."

Director Tetsuya Nomura  revealed to Gematsu details of "Kingdom Hearts 3" including information of the game's appearance in the coming D23 Expo to be held in Japan this coming November. "We have some interesting things planned," shared Nomura.

"There will be 'Kingdom Hearts III' news, and various things, I think. Development on 'Kingdom Hearts III' is going smoothly, but there will also be new announcements connected to it. As one of those new announcements, I think we should be able to announce a smartphone-specific development for the series in short order."

There have been rumors that "Kingdom Hearts 3" release date for PS4 will be on March 2016, while some even during the last quarter of next year. This remains to be seen as director Nomura pointed out, that release date will be among the many things unveiled for "Kingdom Hearts 3" in the coming D23 Expo.

Meanwhile, early reports revealed co-director Tai Yasue sharing details about the return of Sora and the Keyblade-wielding gang.  Talking to Eurogamer, Yasue revealed that while "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be the first in the franchise to be released on Sony for PS4, the use of Unreal Engine 4 has made the team more excited to bring the game to fans.

"The technology is moving forward a lot," shared Yasue. "That's something we've learned from the West, I think, in a big way. We're using Unreal Engine 4 right now, and that really has changed the way we make the game."

"There was nothing wrong with the Luminous engine at all," Yasue added. "We decided that Unreal 4 was right for us. There was a huge network of people actually using it, we were communicating with the Japanese people at Epic a lot - it was like a complete product."

Although "Kingdom Hearts" fans come from all over the world and are loyal to the franchise, Yasue also talked about bringing in more players and new users to the game. Come "Kingdom Hearts 3" PS4 release date, both fans and new users will appreciate the new challenges and missions, Sora and his Keyblade will face.

"We want new users to be able to understand the story before going into Kingdom Hearts 3, so I guess that was the plan - making Kingdom Hearts 3 but making it more accessible by making 1.5 and 2.5," clarified Yasue.
