Fans are still disappointed that "Hart of Dixie" was cancelled despite its impressive run on CW.

Speculations are now claiming that the show's lead star, Rachel Bilson, is the main reason for the series abrupt end.  This was also somehow confirmed by one of the show's stars, Jamie King.

"She [Jamie King] said that the likely reason that the show will be discontinued is because lead actress Rachel Bilson has already signified her intention even during the fourth season of the show that she wants to be a full-time mother and spend more time with her baby daughter," Master Herald reported.

"Jamie added that it has been a tricky situation for "Hart of Dixie" because the issue is not about the ratings but the timing. She revealed that Rachel got pregnant and wanted to take a maternity leave. Nobody can fault her for that because every woman is entitled to do that, King explained."

Meanwhile, before CW officially announced "Hart of Dixie's" cancellation, the cast and production team already knew that there won't be a season 5 happening.

"The production team and cast members of the American comedy-drama TV series 'Hart of Dixie' already knew that there will be no season 5 for the show even before it aired its series finale for Season 4 on March 27," Master Herald continued.

"So while fans were still waiting for the fate of the show after Season 4, the people behind the series are already aware that they are not coming back for a fifth season."

While "Hart of Dixie" has been officially cancelled, talks about a possible spin-off also surfaced online.

"It's still possible that we might see a spin-off in a similar tone, although it will of course not feature Rachel Bilson's character for some time, maybe even at all. This is just a rumor so far and hasn't been directly addressed by anyone involved with the original production," Master Herald continued.
