Ryan Murphy updates future viewers that "American Crime Story" will unveil more information about the O.J. Simpson's murder case. A stellar cast brings revelation to the widely publicized case come 2016 release date, and more news on season 2 plans!

Murphy, the showrunner of the popular TV series, "Glee" and "American Horror Story," is said to direct the new crime series, "American Crime Story." Much like "American Horror Story," the upcoming series will tackle a different story every season, but instead of having a horror theme, the new series will focus on true famous crime stories.

For its first season, reports updated that "American Crime Story" will be about the infamous case of O.J. Simpson come its release date in 2016, which is based on Jeffrey Toobin's "The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson."

"Our goal is to show you the behind-the-scenes mechanizations of crimes, stuff that you didn't know," Murphy updated USA Today.

"When I read the scripts, I didn't know half the stuff (that occurred). I'm like, 'That happened? That happened?' I think people will find them so illuminating. I did."

"It was amazing," Murphy further elaborated on "American Crime Story" as he shared to Deadline. "The interesting thing about this show is everybody knew what was happening outside the Bronco but in this case we tell people what went on in the Bronco."

Aside from the updates regarding the upcoming season 1 of "American Crime Story," he also shared that he has plans for season 2 already even before the actual release date for the first season is announced. "We're going to probably try and find something that's much more character-based and maybe not a trial but that's all I can say. I think we've figure out what we want to do but I'm not ready to announce it yet."

Come the release date of "American Crime Story," fans will be treated to a roster of star studded cast members that include Cuba Gooding Jr. to portray O.J. Simpson. Along with Gooding, John Travolta was casted as the defense attorney, Robert Shapiro. Other casts are Sarah Paulson, Selma Blair, former "Friends" star David Schwimmer, Courtney Vance and Jordana Brewster.

The specific release date has not yet been released, however, reports confirmed that it will be released in 2016.  Stay tuned for more updates about "American Crime Story."
