While fans were quite disappointed that "Avengers: Infinity War" Part I did not make an appearance during the recent SDCC, casting updates have been revealed! Another villain is coming to town and it is no other than Magus.
In a report by SpoilerTV last month, new details of "Avengers: Infinity War" Part I have been revealed and this includes a casting call for another major villain coming. "Auditions are now getting underway for the Marvel Studios feature film 'Avengers: Infinity War - Part I' lead and supporting role," announced in the report.
"The film is the first in a two-part sequel in which Thanos plays a major role, along with the Magus," the report said. "Adam Warlock's bad side, the Magus, separates from his body and assembles the Infinity Gauntlet. Magus creates doppelgangers of Earth's heroes as part of his plan to recreate a universe of evil."
Currently, there have been no updates on the results of the Magus casting for "Avengers: Infinity War" and fans are eager to find out the new Hollywood actor who is joining the cast. However, there have been rumors that "Harry Potter" star Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) and Tobias Menzies from "Outlander" is part of the possibilities in the casting list.
Meanwhile, technically "Avengers: Infinity War" Part I will not be the first arrival of the villainous Magnus. Apparently, the famed green cocoon in last year's "Guardians of the Galaxy" contains Magnus. Although he wasn't seen directly, the "cameo" was confirmed by the director himself.
In a podcast interview with EmpireMagazine, director James Gunn talked about Magnus' cameo in "Guardians of the Galaxy." He said, "There are the slither creature from my movie 'Slither' behind The Collector, those guys are pretty obvious. You have Adam Warlock's cocoon, you have all sorts of other characters from Marvel movies."
"Avengers: Infinity War" Part I release date is set on May 4, 2018.
