“Attack on Titan” season 2 release date news indicates that the much awaited series will be back next year. Unfortunately, it would appear that the fans of the manga-to-series franchise will have to wait a bit longer to see the latest developments in Eren Yaeger’s experiences as a Scout.

Apparently, creator Tetsuro Araki opted to wait for more story arcs in the franchise’s manga version before moving forward with its second season. However, it must be noted that as depicted in the last several scenes of the anime, the Titans have proven to be more intelligent than they have let on.

According to Cross Map, it is highly likely that “Attack on Titan” season 2 plot will take on a story line that is quite similar to that of “Clash of Titans.” The plot will reportedly be focused on telling the story of how the 104th Trainees Squad fought the Titans who managed to penetrate the wall.

It will reportedly also depict how the King will be overthrown because of his corruptive ways. It is assumed that the mutiny will be led by Erwin Smith.

The series’ first season had already covered the first 34 chapters of the story – which included four major arcs, such as “The Fall of Shiganshina,” “104th Trainees Squad,” “Battle of Trost District,” and “The Female Titan.”

During the recent press conference that was held for the live action version of “Attack on Titan,” “Attack on Titan Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrow,” Araki announced that “Attack on Titan” season 2 release date news will be back come 2016, according to Anime News Network.

Thankfully for those who have become antsy waiting for “Attack on Titan” season 2, a spinoff manga has been created by Saki Nakagawa, entitled, “Attack on Titan: Junior High.” However, as compared to the usual tone that the animated series has, this installment will present a much lighter side to the dark mood that the main “Attack on Titan” series has, as reported by iDigitalTimes.
