Surtur, Thanos or Loki- who will be the "Thor 3: Ragnarok" villain?

Spoilers continue to pour about the upcoming flick, but Marvel has kept concrete details at bay.  As of writing the studio has only confirmed that Chris Hemsworth will be returning, and that the third movie will officially called "Thor 3: Ragnarok."

But who will the God of Thunder go against?

Rumor has it that fire giant Surtur will be the viable pick, but supervillain Thanos could also make an apperance considering the screen time he has been getting from previous MCU flicks.

However, as previous "Thor 3: Ragnarok" spoilers teased, despite the next movie having an apocalyptic treatment mainly at the hands of super baddie Surtur, fans should not leave Loki out of the picture.  As several fan theories have suggested, it looks like Thor's conniving bro is more sinister than audiences think.

"Loki in the MCU is that dude who you know who is pretty much a tyrannical asshole but for some reason you sort of rock with him. He's constantly scheming and calculating and just trying to make things harder for his enemies. Remember when he got caught on purpose a la The Joker in the The Avengers? Prime example of a classic Loki move," Movie Pilot noted.

"At the end of Thor 2, Loki is disguised as his father, sitting on the throne of Asgard, which is what he always wanted."

"In a strange way Thor, Avengers, and Thor: The Dark World is a Loki trilogy, which I think is cool. In charting the relationship of these two brothers, when we first meet them as little boys listening to a story their father [tells them] that they were both meant to be kings. Which ended up not being true for one of them, and seeing where that takes him in that troubled journey that Loki goes on," Marvel Studio President Kevin Feige told iO9.

"Thor 3: Ragnarok" is slated for a Nov. 3 2017 release.
