"Thor 3: Ragnarok" cast updates remain to be very limited online.
Based on reports, the third installment will definitely feature Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and will take on the Ragnarok storyline. However, news about other cast members remain to be scarce. As of writing, it has been suggested that fire giant Surtur will be the main villain, but who will play this character?
"'Hannibal' actor Mads Mikkelsen could not only lend his voice to Surtur, he could also play the part (provided he will be edited to appear way larger than Hemsworth," Jobs & Hire suggested.
On the other hand, "'Candyman' star Tony Todd could also deliver a stellar performance either by physically playing Surtur or by simply voicing the character. He is currently playing Zoom in The CW's 'The Flash,' and he has also lent his voice to a number of video game characters.
It has been speculated that Asgard will come to an end in "Thor 3 Ragnarok" as a part of the "apocalyptic comic book story of Ragnarok." Thor will reportedly meet his end in this plot and will eventually pave the way for the "Avengers Disassemble" storyline.
A lot has been said about Thor's possible demise at the hands of fire giant Surtur. But who exactly is Surtur?
Fire giant Surtur, "Thor 3's" villain, could be one of the MCU's scariest antagonist.
According to Marvel.com, "Surtur was an enormous fiery demon native to the dimension of Asgard. Possessed of evil intelligence and vast power, Surtur was one of the major elemental forces of evil that the Asgardians feared. He was a mystical being whose existence predated that of Odin himself. Over 1,000 feet tall and wielding a huge fiery sword, he was once imprisoned by Odin at the Earth's core. Along with Ymir the Frost Giant and the Midgard Serpent, Surtur was the most powerful of Asgard's native enemies."
"Surtur has been freed from imprisonment a few times over the years. The first time the Asgardian god of mischief Loki set Surtur free to wreak havok on Earth."
"Thor 3" is slated for a Nov. 3, 2017 release.
