Pitch Perfect 2 has only one more week before its trailer is officially released to the waiting public. However, it would appear that rookie director Elizabeth Banks just could not reel it in any longer as she dished some details regarding the flick's synopsis to Yahoo!
"I won't say anything about the relationship between Jesse and Beca, but the girls are now graduating seniors," Banks revealed. "They're coming to the end of their time as Bellas and figuring out how to sort of leave the next and the comfort of each other's friendship and figure out what they're going to do with the rest of their lives."
Banks has also been sharing a few spoilers for "Pitch Perfect 2" on her personal website, elizabethbanks.com. Moreover, it is because of her blog posts that fans are well aware of an impending face-off between the Bardon Bellas and their new rivals.
The "Hunger Games" actress previously announced that the famous "Sing-Off" winner Pentatonix, Hindi-American acapella group Penn Masala, and amazingly skilled Filipino-Hindi-American acapella group Filharmonics will be present in the movie as well. These teams will most likely be the new competition.
Plus, it would seem that the "Pitch Perfect 2" family is getting bigger and bigger since the first movie premiered in 2012. "Pitch Perfect" was a breakout hit that grossed $113 million worldwide at the box office. Apart from this, it was also successful on the Billboard Hot 100 charts with its famous song, "Cups," which was performed by the movie's main star, Anna Kendrick.
In "Pitch Perfect 2," Kendrick will be reunited with her fellow Bardon Bellas, namely Alexis Knapp, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, Hana Mae Lee, and Rebel Wilson. Some of the Treblemakers will also be part of the cast, such as Adam Devine and Skylar Astin. Hailee Steinfeld of "Ender's Game" and Katey Sagal of "Sons of Anarchy" will be new additions to the cast.
