While fans have been quite disappointed at the delayed release date of Netflix's "House of Cards" season 4, the longer wait seems tolerable as Frank and Claire Underwood's next challenge will be to face-off with another power-hungry couple.

Latest updates on the upcoming season 4 of "House of Cards" reveal the release date has been slightly delayed, and with reason. A report by RealtyToday pointed out that the arrival of "House of Cards" season 4 could be slightly pushed back, reportedly as showrunners deemed it apt to move the release date closer to the presidential elections.

"Netflix is keeping the release date a secret," it said.

"There are rumors that the season 4 of 'House of Cards' will be pushed back to occur simultaneously with U.S. Presidential Election."

For the past three seasons of "House of Cards," the release date has been on February. However, if this rumor does pose to be true, then "House of Cards" fans may see the return of Frank (Kevin Spacey) and Claire (Robin Wright) Underwood later in 2016, roughly around the last quarter.

Enstarz has pointed out the release date move wouldn't be such a bad idea, considering "House of Cards" season 4 will focus (among others) on Frank Underwood's fight for another term, during a time where the United States will also be electing their own president. However, the more-than-6-month's wait could be painful for fans of the political drama series.

Meanwhile, season 4's release date delay isn't the only big rumor for "House of Cards" fans. According to numerous reports, the arrival of 90's actress, Neve Campbell signals the completion of the power couple supposedly set to take down Frank and Claire Underwood in season 4.

Reports have pointed out that Neve Campbell's character in "House of Cards" season 4 will be half of Frank and Claire's anti-thesis coupling, both of which are power-hungry and are coincidentally younger partners willing to do everything to gain the world---including toppling down Mr. and Mrs. President of the United States of America.

"House of Cards" season 4 release date has yet to be officially announced, but filming is on full throttle.
