"Pokémon GO!" Plus will be released along with the game to enhance the player's gameplay experience.
PC Advisor reported that "Pokemon GO!" Plus is a companion device that can be clipped or strapped on the wrist like a watch. Although the game still functions without the device, it is expected to enhance the players' enjoyment of the augmented reality game.
"Pokémon GO!" Plus is being developed and manufactured by Nintendo. There is no official announcement on its release date or pricing information.
The gadget allows players to play the game without constantly checking their phone for updates. It delivers haptic feedback and flashes LEDs in a series of colors. It also encourages players to experience the world around them.
"Pokémon GO!" Plus connects to the players' phone via Bluetooth. It sends notifications about events within the game, especially for nearby Pokémon. A button in the device lets players perform simple actions such as throwing a Poké ball to catch Pokémon.
The Pokémon Company announced that their next game will be coming to iOS as well as Android smartphones and tablets. The "Pokémon GO!" release date will be in 2016. The game will use actual map data and is designed to get players out in the real world.
"For the first time, Pokémon will roam free in the real world," Niantic founder John Hanke said. "'Pokémon GO' will allow players to capture Pokémon who inhabit parks, shopping areas, sidewalks and the countryside all around the world."
"Imagine discovering a Squirtle hiding along the waterfront in San Francisco, a Bulbasaur at Shinjuku Station or a Pikachu beneath the Eiffel Tower."
Nintendo confirmed that the "Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon" website has been launched. The game will be released by Nov. 20.
"Prepare yourself for a grand adventure where you become a Pokémon and battle alongside Legendary and Mythical Pokémon to help save the world," Nintendo wrote. "Befriend Pokémon and explore ever-changing mystery dungeons with them."
