Did George R.R. Martin confirm that Jon Snow is alive in "Game of Thrones" season 6?

The Independent reported that George R.R. Martin and "Game of Thrones" co-creator David Benioff may have given up trying to insist that Jon Snow was dead at the Emmys. Host Andy Samberg decided to tease the author and showed him a photoshopped image of a baby attending the very first Emmy awards wearing a suit.

After a commercial break, Samberg was back on screen and joked about Jon Snow. "Happy Birthday George and thanks for telling me during the commercial that Jon Snow is alive," he said.

Meanwhile, David Benioff can be seen shaking his head behind George R.R. Martin. This could either mean that the producer is laughing at the absurdity of the suggestion or it could be that they see no point in hiding the fact that Jon Snow will be coming back.

It was previously reported that George R.R. Martin and the "Game of Thrones" screenwriters have discussed the ending of the HBO TV series. They might have a general idea about the show's finale but there could still be changes in the details.

It also still remains to be seen whether Jon Snow will be coming back in "Game of Thrones" season 6, one way or the other. There are several speculations that he is still alive despite being stabbed to death in season 5.

George R.R. Martin's "Game of Thrones" did very well at the Emmys this year. The HBO TV series won 12 awards, including eight Creative Emmys and Best Drama.

Coincidentally, the 67th annual Emmy Awards was the "Song of Ice and Fire" author's 67th birthday. GRRM definitely got the best birthday gifts ever as he watched his show win a record number of awards.

On top of that, Entertainment Weekly reported that he received a special cake for his birthday during the HBO after-party at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles.
