The "No Man's Sky" release date may be confirmed next month when the game will make its appearance in The New Yorker festival.

Design&Trend reported that the game will be featured in The New Yorker festival this October. Hello Games founder Sean Murray will be doing a 90-minute conversation about the game, entitled "Blast Off," with the publication's staff writer Raffi Khatchadourian.

Hopefully, the elusive "No Man's Sky" release date will be announced by then. Murray is also set to give an exclusive preview of his upcoming space exploration video game. The publication commented that the game may not be launched between now until Oct. 3 since Sean Murray will just be showing fans a preview.

The event will be on Oct. 3, which is a Saturday, and will start by 7 p.m. Tickets are now on sale for $45. The New Yorker festival will be held at the One World Trade Center in New York.

It was speculated that the "No Man's Sky" release date may be delayed due to Sony's Project Morpheus. Murray's space exploration game would be the perfect launch title for the VR headset.

VR gadgets are rumored to be ready for release by 2016 and, if the allegations hold true, it is possible that the "No Man's Sky" release date would happen by next year as well.

It is highly likely that the game is being delayed in order for it to be developed for PS4 and PC, complete with Project Morpheus support. If the game would only be available for VR gaming through Sony, this could catapult the popularity and sales for both "No Man's Sky" and the headset to soaring heights.

With a reported 18 quintillion planets, there will definitely be a lot of things for the player to explore. In "No Man's Sky" PC and PS4, players take on the role of an astronaut. Each player will start the journey on an undiscovered planet and the ultimate goal is to reach the center of the universe.
