"Mr. Robot" season 2 updates from its creator, Sam Esmail, suggest that he envisions the series to run for five more years.
The new show, starring Rami Malek, has become one of the best shows on television.
Although its first season had already ended, a lot of questions have been left unanswered. For starters, precisely what Elliot - the character Malek is portraying - will do with fsociety remains unclear to this point. Also, White Rose's association with Evil Corp. has still not been explained.
Furthermore, it would appear that "Mr. Robot" season 2 update creator Sam Esmail has envisioned the series to be a bit similar to big screen motion adaptations, especially with White Rose having a knack for blowing things up.
With its amazingly spot-on story line, in addition to Malek's award-worthy acting chops, "Mr. Robot" has become one of the best new shows on USA Network. According to KPopStarz, the show will be returning with its second season by the middle of next year. Although its exact return date has not been given away, it was previously confirmed that the show will be keeping its original time slot.
Esmail has shared to Variety that he was "100 percent" surprised when USA Network gave him the green light to make "Mr. Robot." "I have always said that the first season was the first act of my feature," he said. "So, this is what I meant! I wanted the story of 'Mr. Robot' to be Elliot actually accomplishing his goal, setting the world into chaos!"
"What would happen to society if something like this occurred where, basically, if the consumer debt industry were to be erased?" Esmail added. "Would governments take over? Would businesses take over? To me, that canvas was something I was interested in exploring. So, for me, that is what that last scene sets up. We are about to watch Rome burn. That is the world Elliot is going to enter next season."
"I certainly know the big plot points ahead," he continued. "I am definitely thinking it is either four or five seasons."
