"How to Train Your Dragon 3" plot, cast and release date updates are flooding the internet this early.
While DreamWorks has yet to confirm the exact release date of the third installment, many are already claiming that a 2017 showing is already in place. What can fans expect in the new movie?
For starters, fans of the franchise should be prepared for heartbreak as the last movie will reportedly show how humans and dragons part ways. If the third movie will closely mirror the novels written by Cressida Cowell, then an all out war between humans and dragons would be showcased in the upcoming movie.
"The plot of the novels leads up to all out war between dragons and humans, a vicious conflict that threatens to claim the lives of thousands," Movie Pilot reported. "In fact, dragons face the prospect of mass extinction in the books, which may be mirrored in the films."
Apart from the dragons vs. humans war in "How to Train Your Dragon 3," additional plot, cast and release date updates are hinting the return of the previous flick's baddie, Drogo.
"The situation becomes more hazardous when Drago returns to allegedly seek revenge," Movie News Guide revealed. "Cate Blanchett as Valka and Djimon Hounsou as Drago will reprise their roles along the main cast from the second film."
"Could Drogo provoke all out war with the dragons?" Movie Pilot asked.
"The last time we saw him, he was more interested in using dragons as his own army. But he certainly hates dragons, and after his defeat it's not too much of a stretch to think he might very well raise a human army to strike back against Hiccup and the dragons of Berk."
It was previously reported that there might be a fourth flick in development, but Director Dean DeBlois just recently revealed that the third instalment will be the last and will put the epic franchise to an end.
