Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are said to be headed for divorce.
Several publications have speculated that the couple may be going to Splitsville. Life&Style reported that Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are having "serious fights" over children.
"[He] has really been pushing Nikki to start a family," a source said. "She feels she's just not ready yet, and that's put a tremendous strain on their marriage."
Apparently, the 27-year-old "Twilight" actress still wants to focus on her work for animal rights causes. "Ian supports her, but he thinks it's the right time for a baby," the insider added.
Nikki Reed's career is doing well this year. She is currently filming the movie "The Highway is for Gamblers" and reportedly has three more feature length films coming out later.
The publication commented that Ian Somerhalder is lucky that Nikki Reed is not closing her doors to having kids of their own. It was previously reported that the actress still wants to build her career and having a baby might hinder its development.
The couple has several dogs and it seemed like the "Twilight" star was fine with having pets for now. However, it might not be enough for Ian Somerhalder anymore.
