Fans are definitely looking forward to "Sword Art Online" season 3.
However, release date rumors are hinting on a possible delay to summer 2016, instead of the rumored end of 2015 launch.
"When-Will.net posts that the third season may be pushed back to Summer 2016, and fans speculate that this may be caused by the announcement of an animated film in the works," Christian Today reported.
"Season 3 was reportedly set to release by the end of 2015, although at this point there have been no announcements or trailers. Instead, all the media thus far has focused solely on the newly announced animated feature film."
Meanwhile, SAO producer Shinichiro Kashiwada teased what fans can expect in season 3, and has even confirmed that fans will get to see more of Kirito and Azuna.
"Personally, I would like to see the 'Alicization' arc because that's something that hasn't been done," Kashiwada told Anime News Network.
"So there are series like 'Uta no Prince Sama' and 'Love Live!' that sell more, while the sales are very important to me, it's really the desire to make something really important and interesting that fans can look forward to watching," he added. "This is what's personally important to me."
And while fans await more news about "Sword Art Online" season 3, good news about a season 4 has already made its rounds online.
"In a report by Inquisitr, manga creator Reki Kawahara's latest SAO light novel which is the Alicization arc will cover most of the two seasons in development," Kpopstarz reported.
"This SAO arc will be all about the 'Underworld,' where civilization and technology is nowhere close compared to the previous arcs, giving it more of a historical feel. The new roles to be played are Eugeo and Alice Schuberg."
