George R.R. Martin's "Game of Thrones" season 6 may be delayed due to another HBO TV show.

Vanity Fair reported that fans will have to wait even longer than usual for "Game of Thrones" season 6. An announcement by HBO revealed that their new drama, entitled "Vinyl," will premiere in February.

Most likely, this will push "Game of Thrones" season 6's release further in the year since the rock 'n' roll drama, from Martin Scorsese, Terence Winter, and Mick Jagger, will run for 10 weeks through Apr. 17.

The publication noted that if HBO will take its usual week off between dramatic seasons, George R.R. Martin's "GoT" season 6 may not premiere until May 1. This will break the record of the latest date that the show has ever premiered which was Apr. 17, 2011, during its first season.

Fans are speculating that HBO could be giving George R.R. Martin more time so that the "Winds of Winter" release date would happen before "Game of Thrones" season 6 kicks off. It was previously reported that the author intends to release the next installment of his "A Song of Ice and Fire" book series before the sixth season of the show begins.

There are conflicting reports on George R.R. Martin's "Winds of Winter" release date. Some say that the English manuscript is ready and is being translated into Polish. However, the author is said to be still trying to finish the book.

Martin revealed how the success of "Game of Thrones" is both a blessing and a curse. "'Game of Thrones' right now is the most successful television show in the world, but it won't always be," he admitted.

"I mean, three years from now, some other television show will be the most successful show in the world."

Christian Post reported that George R.R. Martin released a new novel, entitled "A Knight of Seven Kingdoms." It is a prequel to "A Song of Ice and Fire" and has overtaken the "Winds of Winter" release date.
