Can "Frozen 2" live up to the hype it has been receiving?
While cast, plot and release date updates remain to be limited, fans of the icy animation have been discussing the sequel heavily online. Given that Disney has a track record of producing lackluster and straight to DVD sequels, how can "Frozen 2" fair?
"Which is another gigantic potential pitfall: with the high expectations for Frozen 2 to be even better than the original, it's almost impossible for the film to live up to people's hopes," Movie Pilot reported. "After all, possibilities are always more appealing than reality."
"Crucially, by having a release date so far in the future, Frozen 2 also runs the risk of losing their biggest fanbase to grumpy teenagehood. Kids are fickle, and forgetful, and they can only be drip fed Frozen merchandise so long until something else steals their adoration."
"Of course, with Disney appealing to such a large age range, people will definitely go to see the film in droves, but Frozen 2 will also have to work well as a standalone, as there will be plenty of new, younger fans to enthrall."
Meanwhile, latest "Frozen 2" cast, plot and release date rumors hint that Anna will be at the front and center when the sequel premieres on the big screens.
The new report came after rumors claiming that Anna will have powers of her own to match Elsa's. If these reports are to be believed, will fans see Anna turn rogue too like her sister in the first movie?
"There has been some information going around regarding the development of some particular characters from the original story, and it sounds like Anna is going to be a much more important character now, with more to say and do in the overall story," Master Herald noted.
"The writers have given her some special powers this time and we're going to see her using them quite a bit if some reports are true, and this could have a central place in the new storyline."
