The latest rumor about the upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot to be released in 2017 has now focused on the villain, after the setting and the main cast (at least Peter Parker), has been confirmed.
Speculations that Kraven the Hunter will be the main villain in the upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot set for 2017 has spread, and was further solidified by Kevin Fiege's comment that this particular film will not be seeing a recycled villain from previous "Spider-Man" movies.
"Right now we're interested in seeing villains we haven't seen before," Feige said, talking to BirthMoviesDeath.
A report by Screenrant supported this possibility, that the menacing villain could face-off with teenage Spider-Man.
While rumors remain rumors until it is confirmed, the report pointed out that these speculations really do come from sources that are somewhat connected to the movie's development. "When developing a comic book movie, those involved frequently obtain copies of the source material so they can study the characters and storylines their project may draw from," it said.
"As the 'Spider-Man' screenwriting process is just getting started, Sony is weighing the possibilities of who the bad guy should be, and Kraven is one they look to be considering."
Kraven the Hunter is a supervillain from the Marvel comic books and among the many arch-enemy of Spider-Man. He goes by his real name Sergei Kravinoff and is clad in animal prints and carries hunting weapons like spears and shields. According to IGN, this newest possible "Spider-Man" reboot villain is the 53rd Greatest Comic Book Villain of all time.
"Spider-Man" reboot is set to be released on July 28, 2017, with cast members led by Tom Holland as Peter Parker and Marisa Tomei as the much younger Aunt May. Jon Watts helms the reboot, and to date, no other cast members have been announced for "Spider-Man."
