The hype of "The Force Awakens" is growing, and already "Star Wars" episode VIII cast seems to be filled up, including Hayden Christensen.

"Star Wars" is a mighty franchise and a great comeback, especially after a huge setback. Among the actors who (badly) need to return to the big screen is 34-year-old Hayden Christensen, who after a few movies following his stint as the young Darth Vader, has fallen off the radar.

A report by HollywoodLife revealed that while Hayden Christensen had worked in a handful of almost barely-there movies, he will reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker, also known as Darth Vader in the coming "Star Wars" episode VIII. "Darth Vader is reportedly returning to a galaxy far, far way," said the report.

"Vader will reportedly appear in an upcoming 'Star Wars' movie and the person behind the iconic mask will allegedly be the former Anakin Skywalker, Hayden Christensen," it added.

MakingStarWars supported the rumor of Hayden Christensen's return to "Star Wars" and revealed that according to a source, people behind the franchise has already reached out to the actor to begin negotiations and preparations to make the next "Star Wars" installment.

"A team in the U.K. are soon heading to the U.S. to begin training Hayden Christensen for a 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' appearance of some sort," said the report.

While the extent of Hayden Christensen's return to "Star Wars" has yet to be revealed, this news provides some sort of hint to what fans can expect in the coming episode VIII. His return could somehow be a flashback, or even a re-appearance as a ghost as in the final scene in the last "Star Wars" installment, "The Return of the Jedi" in 1983.

It can be recalled that after the first trilogy was completed in 2005, the 1983 "Star Wars" was re-edited to include Hayden Christensen's character Anakin Skywalker with other jedis, Obi Wan Kenobi (Alec Guiness) and Yoda.

CinemaBlend revealed that the next "Star Wars" will arrive in 2017. While the theory that Hayden Christensen is still floating about, who else would you want to see return?
