Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo have been the subjects of an ongoing feud ever since the actor left the medical drama.

Although they have not yet addressed the reports about their current spat, the actress recently spoke about her former "Grey's Anatomy" co-star.

"Grey's Anatomy" remains to be one of the most watched shows on ABC, despite the fact that Patrick Dempsey has already been killed off. When Ellen Pompeo was asked about what was most difficult for her in 2015, she said that losing her on-screen husband Derek Shepherd was very hard for her.

"Losing Patrick was huge!" she admitted to Entertainment Weekly. Still, even though her character, Meredith Grey, is now a widow, she confirmed that great things were still happening to her and her career as a TV actress.

She has been the star of "Grey's Anatomy" since Day 1 and she has been getting a lot of praises for her portrayal of the beautiful surgeon. "Honestly, the biggest compliments are the fans complimenting my acting," she revealed, according to Design & Trend. "That is really the biggest compliment to me - when the fans tweet me when they are watching the show and they are moved by the performance!"

The show's creator, Shonda Rhimes, also recently spoke up about how well the show has been doing for more than a decade now. After all, "Grey's Anatomy" has been on ABC for 12 seasons now. "How much fun we have been having is really lovely!" she admitted.

When the show returns to small screens next year, it will further tackle the development of its on-screen relationships: Justin Chambers' Alex Karev and Camilla Luddington's Jo Wilson, Kelly McCreary's Maggie Pierce and Giacomo Gianniotti's Andrew DeLuca, and Kevin McKidd's Owen Hunt and Caterina Scorsone's Amelia Shepherd.

Alex proposed to Jo after the latter decided to break up. Meanwhile, Maggie and Andrew continued with their affair even if they had already talked about no longer doing so.
