There are speculations that "Heroes Reborn" season 2 will be developed.
VC Post reported that the series may have gained more fans in the U.K. with Channel 5's acquisition of the show's rights. This led to rumors that "Heroes Reborn" season 2 will be in the works due to its increasing viewership.
In Franchise Herald's collated report, "Heroes Reborn" season 2 was not originally planned when the cult classic revival was announced. Because of this, the publication asked whether the story of the 13-episode miniseries would be enough to continue the series' plot.
NBC's official website has tagged the show as an "even series." This is said to have boosted the hype surrounding "Heroes Reborn."
It also allows the network to cancel it without losing face, if they ever decide to discontinue it. On the other hand, if "Heroes Reborn" does well in terms of ratings, it could be easily renewed as well.
According to TV By The Numbers, the miniseries was able to start off with a decent 2.0 rating for the 18-49 adults range. However, the viewership has not been doing well and has dipped to 1.0 last month.
The website commented that it is highly likely that "Heroes Reborn" will not be getting a second season with the way things are going.
Meanwhile, series creator Tim Kring revealed to Variety last August that they were able to talk about more episodes after the original 13-episode "Heroes Reborn."
"I've always felt that the brand was elastic enough and a broad enough premise," he said.
"It's a show about ordinary people with extraordinary powers. It's an indeterminate [amount of] people around the world and then they have to save the world. I feel confident that we can find more [stories] to tell with some returning characters and new ones."
"When you log onto this show for the very first time and sign on to watch it, you know that you will get an end," he added.
