The fans of "Sword Art Online" season 3 were heartbroken when they got to know that the release is pushed to summer of 2016 due to the scheduled development of the SAO animated film.

This Japanese light novel series written by Reki Kawahara is equally popular among the adults as it is among the children. When-wil.net reported that at this moment the A-1 Pictures studio is yet to renew or cancel the anime.

In 2012, the Japanese television premiered the first season of the anime series of the same name. In 2013 they released a movie special. Following a huge success of the first series, the creators released the second season in the summer of 2014.

It is almost going to be two years and the fans are demanding the release of season 3. The popularity of this show can be speculated with the fact that there is a game for the PSP platform for this animated series.

The "Sword Art Online" animated movie will be directed by Tomohiko Ito. A 1 pictures will continue to produce even the animated film which will be with the team of Shingo Adachi for the character designs.

The plot of "Sword Art Online" will be based on the light novel's latest arc, "Alicization". As per the report from Anime News Network, producer Shinichiro Kashiwada expressed his desire to see both Kirito and Asuna in the new series too.

The plot revolves around Kirito (Kirigaya Kazuto) working for a private enterprise called Rath in the crime division. Kirito will test out a 4th generation experimental full drive equipment called ''Soul Translator''. It will be experimented on others to check the side effects and features.

Even though this experiment was meant for military, it got leaked out and a virtual world called ''Underworld'' was created. In this virtual space time moves thousand times faster than the real world. Kirito gets trapped in this virtual world.
