The Wrens has established themselves as one of the premier bands in the past decade through their amazing album "The Meadowlands."
Released in 2003, the band's third album has become a darling for the indie rock fans as well as critics as it scores 85% on Metacritic as of this writing.
News of the follow-up album has been going on for the past couple of years. Consequence of Sound reported on December 2014 of the band's announcement that they have finally completed the album. The report indicated that the album would actually be released in 2015 since the band has a penchant of ensuring the album is with their best efforts.
Unfortunately, 2015 came and went without any album release from the critically acclaimed indie-rock band. But they did provide some updates in the past months with regards to the status of their album.
Stereo Gum reported that the band has finally completed the album again last July 2015. Charles Bissell provided an update regarding the status of the album. In his post, he revealed that the album is being "remastered" and when the label "gets all that in a week or two, they'll set a release date."
Even though they were unable to release any albums since 2003, the band was able to release two singles, "Hopeless" in 2006 and "Pulled Fences" in 2009. They also covered "They'll Need A Crane" by There Might Be Giants in 2006.
For those who are wondering about why The Wrens are unable to release an album for such a very long time, the band actually has some responsibilities at home as fathers who has to provide for their family.
In a separate article by Stereo Gum, the band clarified that they actually have day jobs. They also have to move and finding a place where they could practice together is a challenge.
