Nick Gordon just couldn't stay away from controversy as he recently posted on Twitter a Christmas card which had a very much alive Bobbi Kristina Brown.

"Gordon, 25, tweeted an image of the smiling pair, which had been altered to superimpose Santa hats on to his and Brown's heads," reported Sydney Morning Herald.

"In the disturbing image, presents surround the pair, who cuddle atop a banner exclaiming 'Merry Christmas,'" it added.

Apparently, the controversial photograph was taken in 2012, during happier times, when Nick Gordon and Bobbi Brown attended a Grammy special paying tribute to Whitney Houston.

Instead of spreading cheer for the Christmas card after Bobbi Kristina Brown's death, Nick Gordon seemed to be inviting controversy.

"Gordon, who was taken in as a child by Houston and raised alongside Brown, came under fire on social media and news outlets for the festive move," SMH added.

Nick Gordon was sued for $40 million in connection to Bobbi Kristina Brown's death. Prosecutors initially filed a civil lawsuit as he was accused of beating up Whitney Houston's daughter and stealing from her estate. In an email from a spokesperson, Gordon's lawyer told USA Today that "the recent lawsuit against Nick is slanderous and meritless."

"Nick has been heartbroken and destroyed over the loss of his love and it's shameful that such baseless allegations have been presented publicly."

This wasn't the first time that Nick Gordon earned public criticism following Bobbi Kristina Brown's death.

Back in Aug. 17 last year, Nick Gordon visited Bobbi Kristina Brown's grave in New Jersey and earned the anger of her family in light of the lawsuit against him over domestic violence and theft, as well as wrongful death.

Meanwhile, Nick Gordon took to Twitter to express his grief over the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown.

He wrote, "I miss Bobbi Kristina so much it hurts. She was my everything in life and my best friend. I love her so much and I'm lost without her. I want her back and Whitney [Houston] too I love u both so much r.i.p."
