Good news to all "The Leftover" viewers, as the HBO recently denies the TV series' cancellation and officially renews the widely praised show for a season 3, which serve as its final chapter.

Created by Damon Lindelof, "The Leftovers" is based on Tom Perrota's book of the same title and reportedly experienced an inventive makeover last Season 2, which has been well critically-lauded, as noted by Deadline.

The entire season 2 reportedly received positive reviews from critics, wherein Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 89% rating with an average score of 8.6 out of 10, based on 38 critic reviews.

Notably, "The Leftovers" second season evidently keeps on being capricious and provocative with its several changes, including cast, locations; from New York to Austin, Texas and as well as its storyline.

All things considered, the last chapter - season 3 - was considered as it likely permits the makers to finish off the story. Therefore, cancellation rumors have receeded.

In fact, President of HBO Programming, Michael Lombardo, was the one who announced the renewal last Dec. 10 and expressed that the TV show has ended up being a standout amongst the most particular HBO series.

"It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome back Damon Lindelof, Tom Perrotta and the extra-ordinary talent behind 'The Leftovers' for its third and final season," said Lombardo, according to TV series finale.

"We are extremely proud of its unrivaled originality, which has resulted in such a passionate following by our HBO viewers. We admire and fully support Damon's artistic vision and respect his decision to bring the show to its conclusion next season," he added.

That said, "The Leftovers" fans are apparently going nuts as they share their happiness and excitement on social media after it was finally clarified that the show isn't cancelled, and in fact, renewed for season 3.

As noted, the premise of "the Leftovers" happens three years after a worldwide occasion called the "Sudden Departure," where the mystifying, synchronous vanishing of the 2% of world's population or around 140 million individuals happens.

Taking after that occasion, standard religions declined and various cults reportedly has emerged, most notably is the Guilty Remnant.
