"Half- Life 3's" release date has been speculated for a long time, and now, it is said that the game has been included in the listings of upcoming games under the Steam Database, refuting claims that the game will not be seeing its third iteration, according to a report via Korea Portal.
It has been years since "Half-Life 2" has been released. Since then, fans of the game have been anticipating "Half-Life 3's" release date, but Valve has not given any hints of launching the game apart from alleged leaks online.
Now, it seems that there is a possibility that "Half-Life 3" will be coming soon after the game has allegedly been included in the list of games via SteamDB, as reported by Master Herald. Many believed that the game is not entirely being shelved.
The report stems from the discovery of a supposed vaporware in the game sharing program of Valve. Apart from the vaporware, a text file titled "hl3.txt" is said to have been found in the recent update of "DoTA 2" which led to speculations that "Half-Life 3" is in the works and will be seeing a release date soon.
Valve has previously released a statement regarding the game, claiming that it is not in development as of the moment and that it wouldn't be anytime soon.
Apart from rumors on "Half-Life 3's" release date and apparent inclusion on SteamDB's listings, there are also talks on a film based on the game, according to Christian Today.
If the claims are true, the film is said to be seeing a release date early 2017 and will allegedly be released before the game. The "Half-Life" movie will supposedly give fans a glimpse of what will go down in the third installment of the game.
In addition, should the movie materialize, sources claimed that Edward Norton will be playing the lead role as Gordon Freeman.
