Recent "Godzilla" 2016 news confirmed that leaked "Resurgence" photos revealed the monster's frightening design.

Huffington Post reported that Godzilla in "Resurgence" looks like he went through "an extreme makeover." Leaked images online are said to show the monster's frightening new form.

The publication noted that this will be Godzilla's first appearance in a Japanese film since "Godzilla: Final Wars" back in 2004.

The recent "Godzilla" 2016 photos authenticity were revealed by August Ragone, author of "Eiji Tsuburaya: Master of Monsters." The images are believed to have been taken at Toho Studios.

According to Tech Times, the monster in "Godzilla: Resurgence" "looks almost undead" with its skeletal hands and disjointed teeth. The website speculated that Godzilla may be recovering from a nuclear attack as evidenced by what looks like radiation burns throughout his body.

Mail Online added that Shinji Higuchi ("Attack on Titan") wants to provide the "most terrifying Godzilla that Japan's cutting-edge special-effects movie-making can muster." He is directing "Resurgence" with Hideaki Anno ("Neon Genesis Evangelion").

It was previously reported that "Godzilla: Resurgence" will land in theaters on Jul. 29, 2016.

Toho released the "Godzilla" 2016 poster for its upcoming film last month. The image shows a close up of the monster's head with its release date printed at the bottom.

"Hybrid" special effects have been employed to create the monster. Apparently, the technique combines computer graphics with manipulating a massive physical doll of rippling red muscle.

Meanwhile, Bloody Disgusting reported that Godzilla is said to have three forms in "Resurgence." The monster's bruised and battered demeanor in the leaked photos is believed to be his first form in the film.

"Rumor has it Godzilla has 3 forms," Twitter user The Big Bad Ben posted. "Not proven yet. Apparently he's going to regenerate non-stop from what I've heard."

Furthermore, Godzilla's final form will purportedly be "what fans have come to know and love over the years," Bloody Disgusting wrote.
