Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose has constantly struggled with injuries and has been far from his former Most Valuable Player self for quite some time. Now, most people believe that the Derrick Rose and Bulls era is coming to an end.

As per bleacherreport.com, ESPN insider Brian Windhorst discussed on the "Russillo & Kanell show" the potential break up between the former Most Valuable Player and the Bulls franchise.

Windhorst said "The Derrick Rose breakup with the Bulls has begun." He also described how the franchise and the oft-injured point guard are "ready to move."

Rose has had bizarre offseason filled with a controversial sexual assault charge against him and comments that did not go too well with the Bulls fans. The Bulls and its fan base have been patient with Rose as he has struggled to play consistently on the court due to injuries over the past few years.

Based on a report by cbssports.com, Rose is already thinking about his free agency in 2017. When asked about his future with the Bull organization, Rose spoke about getting a potentially better deal due to the projected improved financial landscape of the NBA in the near future.

Now according to yibada.com, one team that could possibly acquire the services of Rose is the New York Knicks. The Knicks are desperately looking to upgrade their backcourt. While rumored prospects by the team are Brandon Jennings, Tony Wroten or Jimmer Fredette, none of these players would make an impact like Rose.

Rose would give the team much needed penetration and an additional scoring threat beside Carmelo Anthony. Experts believe that the Bulls don't have much takers for the oft-injured Rose and that the Knicks would most likely take on that risk.

With the Knicks fighting for a playoff spot, one would think that they wouldn't mind giving the former MVP a chance.
