The fans of ''Rocky Balboa'' famed Sylvester Stallone are happy with the news that the ''Creed'' sequel is on its way.

In Jan. 2016 Sylvester Stallone and MGM CEO Gary Barber confirmed that a sequel to Creed is in development. However the release date and complete details are not available.

This 2015 American sports drama film ''Creed'' had Sylvester Stallone returning as ''Rocky Balboa''. This Chartoff-Winkler and New Line Cinema production collected $115.8 Million in the box office. It was directed by Ryan Coogler and written by Coogler and Aaron Covington.

This eighth film of ''Rocky Franchise'' is expected to show the reunion of his late friend Apollo Creed which was famously played by Carl Weathers.

As reported by channel 24, the 69 year old Stallone took two years to decide to star in ''Creed''. Stallone said: "Ryan has some ideas of going forward and backward and actually seeing Rocky and Apollo together. Think of The Godfather 2. That's what he was thinking of, which was kind of ambitious."

''Rocky Franchise'' was a super duper success and all the seven films : Rocky (1976), Rocky II (1979), Rocky III (1982), Rocky IV (1985), Rocky V (1990), Rocky Balboa (2006) and Creed (2015) did great in the box office. This boxing saga was written by Ryan Coogler.

''Creed'' was distributed by Warner Bros. However they never expected it to make it to Top 10 lists. If they would have prepared a proper awards campaign, then it would have bagged more awards. It is expected that Stallone might get a best supporting actor Oscar nomination for his role in ''Creed''.

''Creed'' won several other awards including Las Vegas Film Critics Society award for Best Supporting Actor- Sylvester Stallone.

Collider reported that Carl Weathers might be back in the sequel of ''Creed'' who died in died in 1985's Rocky IV. Coogler has some ideas about the story line to incorporate this.

The ''Rambo'' famed Stallone's fitness quotient is still unquestionable. In ''Creed'' the fans loved his performance as a boxing coach to the character Adonis "Donnie" Johnson played by Michael B. Jordan.

Can the fans expect Stallone in the same kind of tempo in the sequel too?
