Norman Reedus and Andrew Lincoln have been talked about a lot because of their undeniable bromance off the screen of the "Walking Dead." But there are reports now that it almost didn't happen.

According to a report on Uproxx, the 42-year-old actor wasn't the first choice for the Rick Grimes character. Instead, original showrunner Frank Darabont wanted Thomas Jane for the role.

The plan didn't push through though as the "The Punisher" actor was unavailable for the "Walking Dead" role at the time. As such, the Rick Grimes role was later passed unto the "Love Actually" actor as told by Cinema Blend.

Despite the failure of the original plans, the change in the choice of actor for Rick Grimes on "Walking Dead" also led to the Norman Reedus Andrew Lincoln bromance. The friendship and closeness of the pair has been undeniable as seen on their interaction during panels and interviews.

During the Walker Stalker Con In Atlanta last November, Lincoln even shared how they love to tease and prank each other.

"I'm not very good with directions," he told the audience as cited by Atlanta magazine. "I was meeting the rest of the gang for this comedy thing in Atlanta, and I kept circling [the venue]. I couldn't find it. And then Norman sent six cops to flag me down and escort me to the front. This was very nice of him, I thought, until they handcuffed me and took selfies and said it was Norman's idea."

The Norman Reedus Andrew Lincoln bromance also has heated up in the past, particularly in the Entertainment Weekly pictorial, last July 2015 were the pair got "cheeky."

"It was really interesting getting that shot," EW editor-at-large Dalton Ross told Entertainment Tonight back then. "At one point Andrew Lincoln starting laughing and said, 'Norman, stop it.' Norm was trying to hold his hand behind Melissa McBride's back. They turned the photo around from the back and they grab each other's butts. It really is a cool shot, because those guys are such friends on set."
