Before its scheduled release on Jul. 29, 2016 for Japanese audiences, new images from the "Godzilla: Resurgence" set have surfaced and the monster have gone from bold to terrifying.

"Godzilla: Resurgence" is co- directed by "Evangelion" director, Hideaki Anno and "Attack on Titan" director Shinji Higuchi. The script was entirely written by Anno.

Blastr reported that the images were shared through Twitter, and the snaps gave fans a first sneak peak at the "kaiju" ever since a teaser was released a month ago.

"Godzilla: Resurgence" is reportedly the first Godzilla movie in over a decade for its producer and distributor, Toho.

Apparently, the movie was intended to be a reboot of the "Godzilla" franchise and it will be the 29th Godzilla film produced by Toho.

According to Bloody Disgusting, Godzilla will be changing forms two times for a total of three different looks.

According to Tech Times, the monster in "Godzilla: Resurgence" looks "almost undead, with skeletal hands, disjointed teeth and radiation burns all across his body."

It is also speculated that Godzilla might be regenerating from a nuclear attack. This new monster is far apart from the greenish grey look used in old Godzilla films, for it is red and black in color.

Reportedly, directors Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi vowed to bring Godzilla to his horror roots as a being birthed from man's use of nuclear weapons.

The Mary Sue shared that "Godzilla: Resurgence" is not connected to the 2014 adaptation of "Godzilla" from Legendary Pictures.

It is also refreshing to have this movie handled by Japanese filmmakers, since they are more knowledgeable to relay their country's history.

"Godzilla's ghost was going to appear about forty years after Godzilla was killed by the Oxygen Destroyer. The ghost gradually was going to materialize into Godzilla and then that Godzilla was going to do battle with the Godzilla seen in the last few films," as stated on Scified.

"Godzilla: Resurgence" will be released initially in Japan but knowing that it has English subtitles, an overseas release will not be impossible.
