"Outlander" season 2 is already shaping up to be its most "intense" run to date.

While Jamie and Claire are together and are expecting their first child, they are not out of the woods yet. Will Claire's pregnancy complicate things now that Jamie is recovering from his traumatic experience from the previous season?

In a report from Movie News Guide, while Claire is anticipating her firstborn with Jamie, there are dangers ahead that cannot be ignored. Pregnancy can affect a couple's relationship in many ways, and Claire and Jamie's love for each other will be tried and tested in many ways, revealed executive producer Ronald Moore.

Moore also teased that danger awaits the couple since the first day that they arrive in Paris. While Moore did not specify what this "danger" was, he did say that it was "complicated." He did add that Claire's pregnancy will be threatened.

Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie in the series added that his character is not going to be quite like himself in the upcoming season. He revealed that in "Outlander" season 2, Jamie was still traumatized after having suffered torture and rape in the previous season.

"Season 2 has been about discovering a side of the character I didn't know was there," said Heughan in a report from Cinema Blend. "He's playing someone else - he's learning to be quite deceptive, and he does it very well."

Complicating things even further, Claire's husband in the "modern world" is coming back in a huge way. This will shake things up for Claire and Jamie. Now that Claire reunites with Frank, it will only be a question as to how Frank would react when he finds out that his love is pregnant with another man's child.

"The difference with this season is there's been time to be in one place and contemplate," teased Caitriona Balfe, who plays Claire in the series. Things are sitting with her a lot more, and she has time to consider her place and how she feels."

The upcoming season promises to be more intense than ever before. While Starz has not given official word as to when the drama will be back on air, it is speculated that "Outlander" season 2 will be back on Starz on April 2016.
