Moreover, ET's Cameron Mathison also got the chance to speak with  ''Jurassic World'' famed actress on the red carpet at the Critics' Choice Awards in Santa Monica, CA. She candidly expressed her thoughts on the ''Best Actress in An Action Film award,'' for which she is nominated.

Last year, Bryce Dallas Howard's dad, Ron Howard, was honored with the LOUIS XIII Critics' Choice Genius Award. "And your tweet about the fact that last year you were celebrating your dad's win, and this year, look at you... nominated!" Mathison said.

"I just about died last year when my dad was given that honor and his speech was so beautiful and I was sobbing all night long," she admitted. "I mean it was really moving and I just want to add to something I said before."

"When I said it's important, what I mean is that in films today, 31 percent of speaking roles go to women, where 69 percent go to men," she continued. "In action films, it's 23 percent. The fact that there's a category that acknowledges that, female actors in an action film, it's cool."
