Missy Elliot has yet to release a full album since 2005. But the rapper recently revealed that Sean "Diddy" Combs has pushed her to write new music.

According to TV3 Ireland, the 44-year-old rapper was content writing and producing music but the music mogul encouraged her to share her new music again in the frontline.

"I happened to be in the studio one day with Faith Evans and I was working with her and he came over and said, 'Yo money, you still rap? I got this record I want you to hop on,'" she shared about Sean "Diddy" Combs on Pharrell's Apple Beats Show as cited by the source above. "I was so nervous.''

Despite the Sean "Diddy" Combs revelation, Missy Elliot has yet to reveal much about her highly-anticipated new album. She isn't even sure if 2016 will be its release year.

"I want to say 2016 but I don't want to give a time," the Hip Hop singer told Billboard in November. "Nowadays you say a time, they'll stone you."

In terms of material for music, the Virginia-born singer was not lacking. In fact, she admitted she has more than one album of material available.

"If I wanted to do 'The Missing Files of Missy Elliott,' I have probably six albums just sitting there," she spilled.

But Elliot stated that she wanted to be careful this time with the kind of sound she will release. Her hiatus from the hotline helped a lot with her writing.

"I have to be very careful," the "Get Ur Freak On" singer pointed out. "It's different now. People are quick to be like, 'You're irrelevant, you're a flop, you're washed up.'"

"People hadn't realized that I haven't just been an artist, I've been a writer and a producer for other artists. When you're writing that much, your brain is like a computer. You have refresh it."

As told by Forbes, Missy Elliot's new album was one of the ten most anticipated music this year. Her current single "WTF (Where They From)" was a tease for her new music.
