The NBA trade rumors continue for the Chicago Bulls as they seek to exchange their big men for wing players.

There are some interesting proposals to this end and one of them came from Fan Sided's Tom West. West had different proposals involving the New York Knicks and one of them involved acquiring Pau Gasol.

Gasol is a familiar face to Knicks President of Basketball Operations, Phil Jackson. The Zen Master coached the LA Lakers to two championships in 2009 and 2010. Those teams were led by Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol.

While Gasol is approaching the twilight of his career, reuniting with Phil could be an option. As West stated, Gasol "could be an excellent frontcourt partner alongside Porzingis, and an upgrade over Lopez thanks to his far superior scoring ability and rebounding."

As trade bait, West proposed Arron Afflalo as the Bulls needed a wing player and shooter who could play alongside Jimmy Butler. Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg seems to prefer Butler at the "three" so slipping Afflalo at the shooting guard spot is a good move. Thus, the rumor quickly caught fire.

However, Chicago Bulls' fansite Pippen Ain't Easy objects to the proposal. Writer Dave Daniels has two points: Gasol may not be such a "home run" acquisition for the Knicks and the Bulls are probably not that eager to trade the Spaniard.

Daniels argued that what the Knicks need is a defensive big man which Gasol is not. "Gasol would give the Knicks a talented low post player but wouldn't improve them defensively."

Also, with the recent injury to Joakim Noah, the Bulls may now be wary of letting Gasol go. He is still one of their better options on offense and Afflalo would not compensate for the rebounding that Gasol brings.
