"A Head Full of Dreams" possibly could have included a David Bowie-collaborated track. The Coldplay new album could have done even better if it had pushed through.

The passing of a legendary artist has unearthed a few good details and revealed missed opportunities, including the possibilities of legendary musician David Bowie onto one of the tracks of the Coldplay new album. While previous reports focused on the inspiration behind "A Head Full of Dreams, a report by NME revealed how Coldplay asked the late great David Bowie to be in one of their music for a collaboration.

According to the report, "Singer Chris Martin sent him a letter asking him to be involved and, according to a smiling Will Champion, Bowie replied, 'It's not a very good song, is it?'"

"Coldplay's reaction was to not be overly phased - Champion notes, 'He was very discerning - he wouldn't just put his name to anything. I'll give him credit for that!'" added the report.

While the collaboration hasn't been confirmed to be a track that is included in the Coldplay new album "A Head Full of Dreams," fans speculate that this could've been the opportunity of a lifetime for the band. The whereabouts of the track are nowhere to be found, especially since the title hasn't been revealed. If however, David Bowie did oblige to collaborate with Coldplay for a single song, that would definitely make it to the new album, regardless if the legendary musician had not passed.

Incidentally, David Bowie released his new and last album before his death. Billboard has revealed that "Blackstar" has debuted on the 200 chart on the top spot. "'Blackstar' was issued through ISO/Columbia Records and earned 181,000 equivalent album units in the U.S., during the week ending Jan. 14, according to Nielsen Music," revealed the report. "Of that sum, 174,000 were in pure album sales -- Bowie's biggest sales week for an album since Nielsen began electronically tracking point-of-sale music purchases in 1991," it added.
