It's a wrap for "Assassin's Creed" as the movie has finished filming and now is in the editing and polishing stage, which is only months before its December 2016 release.
Aymar Azaizia, the Head of Assassin's Creed content at Ubisoft, took to Twitter last week to congratulate the cast and crew of "Assassin's Creed" following the wrap in production. He posted a message with a picture of the "Assassin's Creed" crew, saying, "It is my honor to announce that #assassinscreedmovie last shot was taken minutes ago! Congratulations guys!!!"
In an interview with Wall Street Journal, Michael Fassbender who will be taking on the film's lead role, Callum Lynch, has dished plot details to "Assassin's Creed."
"It was great. It was a huge learning experience," Michael Fassbender said about "Assassin's Creed."
"To be a producer on it as well was very educational. I think we've got something special. I think we've done something original in this genre," the actor added.
Fassbender also talked about his character, revealing and teasing about Callum Lynch's lineage. He said, "He is an outsider. He's been institutionalized from his early teens. He's a little bit of a lost soul of sorts. He starts to identify [his] lineage and where he comes from in a way."
According to iDigitalTimes, having used the word "lineage" is quite tantalizing in the storied "Assassin's Creed" franchise. It added that the video game franchise greatly relies on the concept of genetic memories for its narrative. And if Callum Lynch's lineage will become a vital part of the film's plot, it may be interesting if it ends up connected to some of the heroes from the "Assassin's Creed" franchise.
Techno Buffalo, in its report, however, is saying that Ubisoft, the owner of the game franchise that spawned the film, will be skipping 2016 before releasing the next video game entry reportedly titled "Assassin's Creed Empire."
