'The Forest’ Movie 2016 Review: How Did It Fare Against Critics? Did Natalie Dormer Make Bad Decision?

''The Forest'' is a 2016 British-American supernatural horror film which was released on Jan. 8, 2016 in the theaters in the US and the UK.

The viewers who love supernatural films are waiting for the outcome of the movie in the theaters in terms of box office collection.

The director Jason Zada kept this a low budget movie spending only $10 million USD. Natalie Dormer plays the role of twin sisters Sara and Jess Price. Taylor Kinney as Aiden, Eoin Macken as Rob, Stephanie Vogt as Valerie, Yukiyoshi Ozawa as Michi, Rina Takasaki as Hoshiko, Noriko Sakura as Mayumi, Yûho Yamashita as Sakura and James Owen as Peter try to create a mystery which unfurls with time.

The story revolves around a woman who goes into Japan's 'Suicide Forest' to find her twin sister and confronts supernatural terror. The majority of the story is set in and around the Aokigahara Forest, a forest at the northwest base of Mount Fuji in Japan where frequent suicides happen.

The mystery starts when Sara Price, an American woman, receives a phone call from the Japanese police telling her that they think her troubled twin sister Jess is dead, as she was seen going into Aokigahara forest.

IMDb gave this movie a rating of 5.4 out of 10 and rotten tomatoes gave only 12%. YouTube has the video of the trailer uploaded.

Metacritic marked it as the 34th best movie of 2016 and 3rd most discussed the movie of 2016. The official website of ''The Forest'' has truly given it a scary look and feel.

Fandango has a lot of photos and documentary based on ''The Forest''.

''The Forest'' is distributed by Gramercy Pictures and Icon Film Distribution. As of Jan. 17, 2016, ''The Forest'' has grossed $21.1 million in North America and $1.3 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $22.4 million, against a budget of $10 million. It is expected to do better in the box office in the coming weeks. 

Natalie Dormer climbed her stairs of success through the HBO series ''Game of Thrones.''

So will her role as Sara and Jess Price in ''The Forest'' bring her the coveted success which her role as Private Lorraine brought her in ''Captain America: The First Avenger?''
